Comment on Power devolution to states, way to go –Anyaoku by THE NOON

Already the States has its constitutional powers independently from Federal in many areas that confirmed the true principles of Democratic separation of powers however the major obstacles that hindered good Democratic governance in Nigeria since 1999 remained total abused of powers and abused of office by the elected office holders especially in an executive capacity which opened all the doors of corruption so fighting corruption without addressing the issues of abused of powers and abused of office will amounted to treating a symptoms and abandoned its disease. The powers the States has to embezzled public funds, what about the powers of state legislation been used to suit their selfish agendas moreover devolving more powers to States in this ugly Democratic situation will not help but only create more system of corruption as part and parcel of Nigerian political culture which mean legalized what is illegal and moralised what is immoral.
