A 45-year-old man, Alarape Musibau, was yesterday arraigned before an Osun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo, for alleged N.6 million fraud.

The defendant was arraigned by the police on two count-charges of fraud and theft.

Police prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the defendant fraudulently obtained  N600,000 from one Shittu Isiaka, under the pretence of buying a car for him on March 2021, at the Ibikunle Area in Osogbo, and failed to do so.

The alleged offences, according to the charge sheet obtained by Daily Sun, were contrary to and punishable under sections 419 and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34, Vol.II Laws of Osun State, 2002.

The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the allegations. His counsel, Abayomi Adedeji, urged the court to grant him bail, promising that he would stand his trial if granted bail.

The Magistrate, Adebayo Adeyeba, thereby, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250,000 and one surety in like sum. He subsequently adjourned the case to October 26, 2022, for mention.
